Everest Base Camp Trek

In October 2011 I was able to check another big box on my bucket list as my wife and I Trekked the roughly 38 miles from Lukla to Everest Base Camp!
The views were amazing! If you have ever wanted to see scenery, mountains and even just rocks that can give a better understanding and definition to the word majestic, this is a great place to surround yourself with such scenery.
In the end, we did not make it all the way to Base camp as we were turned back by a blizzard when we were only an hour or less from it. We were considering pressing on, but our guide let us know about two American girls who had tried it last year in a blizzard and said nonchalantly, "They are still trying to find their bodies." Once we heard this, we decided to immediately turn around and head back to the relative warmth and comfort of Gorak Shep.
This photo is from a section of the Trek between Lobuche and Gorak Shep. Gorak Shep is the last camp before base camp and is located at an elevation of 16,942 ft. The air is crisp, a little low on oxygen and clean and you can see for miles with little to no issues on a clear day.
